Guinness museum and factory Tour, Dublin, Ireland

Guinness Museum and Factory tour, Dublin

Any visitor to Ireland over the age of 18 should try out what is one of Ireland's most famout exports, Guinness. Guinness is one of Ireland’s most famous beers and one of the most successful beer brands in the world.

This dry stout drink was first brewed by Arthur Guinness in his brewery at St. James’s Gate in Dublin and over the years, the master brewers have turned the process of making Guinness into an art that is both exacting and fascinating. Today, tourists can visit the Guinness Factory and understand both the brewery process and the history of this popular beverage.

The Guinness Factory Tour is a walkthrough tour of the Guinness Storehouse, which is a building that used to be the centre of the brewing process and is located at St. James’s Gate. The tour costs around €14 for a ticket, but it is possible to get a discount if your Guinness museumticket is booked online. The Guinness Storehouse Tour is open 7 days a week from 9:30 am to 5 pm.

The tour begins with a short video which gives the viewer a history of the Guinness family and their associations to Dublin city. After the video, visitors follow a set of arrows around the factory to experience the wonders of the Storehouse. The brewery itself is situated on a 35 acre plot.

The tour gives people a detailed history of Guinness and the processes involved in its making, from the first pint that was ever made to the modern practices currently involved. At the end of the tour, visitors can go the Gravity Bar which offers guests an incredible view of Dublin where they can enjoy the view while sipping on their complimentary pint of Guinness.
