Old Jameson Distillery, Dublin
Old Jameson Distillery is located in Smithfield Village, in the heart of old Dublin and is a major tourist attraction for visitors to the city. The distillery offer a guided tour of the entire process of whiskey making starting right from the:
- intake of grain to malting
- mashing
- fermentation
- distillation
- maturation and bottling.
The Distillery was set up in the year 1780 by John Jameson and has a bar named after him called the 
Jameson Bar. This bar serves the traditional Irish whiskey and you can also take a look in the Distillery Gift Shop on the ground floor from where you may buy authentic Irish Jameson. Interestingly, the brand, Jameson, is now owned by the French conglomerate Pernod Richard and is famous all over the world.
